Tesco recalls festive stuffing due to possible moth presence

In an alert to consumers, Tesco has issued a recall for its festive stuffing product over concerns it may contain moths.

The warning from the supermarket chain concerns the Tesco Finest Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix 130g, marked with a best before end date of September 2024.

“We are recalling a single batch of Tesco Finest Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix due to the possible presence of moths which makes the product unfit for human consumption,” the official recall notice said.

The Food Standards Agency has circulated the warning, advising consumers who have purchased this particular stuffing mix to avoid consuming it.

Tesco is urging customers to bring back the affected product to any of their stores for a full refund, no receipt required.

Tesco has issued an apology for any inconvenience caused to customers. The stuffing, featuring cranberry, a classic element of Christmas dinners, has its origins in American Thanksgiving traditions.

The recall notice does not elaborate on how the stuffing might have become contaminated with moths, and Tesco has been asked for further comment on the matter.
